The deer are abundant at Ananda Village. The female adults seem to take it in turns to baby-sit the youngsters. Often you will see one doe with four or five fawns. Sometimes the does look after the young together. There are also groups of bucks that hang out together. Sometimes they will move as a family with one of the bucks, a doe, or a couple of does, and the fawns. They are shy creatures. They will let you get relatively close to them, but not too close. In fall when they get really hungry you can nudge a little nearer. One of the photos shows a doe with her triplets - quite rare - and another doe's twins!
